Production process


On the first stage, we receive the Chestnuts making sure we buy high quality product, as we work with the best Galician gatherers. They are experienced people who has been during more than 25 years looking after the Chestnut forest and its product

On the second stage, a Chestnut calibration is being done pulling apart according to size and Chestnut types. The little ones are sold for bakery and making flour, and the best selection goes to the fresh Chestnut market.

After these processes, an esterilization is being done. It is a technique which warranty the full larviciding, eggs and insects which can be present, additionally removes the possibility of fungus and microorganisms. The process is being done at 50ºC during 45´

Once reached to this point, one of the main process take place; supervising and selecting the product previous to the packaging. This process is being made manually by qualified staff eliminating Chestnuts with imperfections or defects.

On the last stage, Chestnuts are being packed in bags, from 250gs to 5Kg, and sacks from 25Kg to 1000Kg.
